The whole idea of these origami French paper stars starts with pentagon shapes. I’ve always wanted to try Origami (the Japanese art of paper folding), so this seemed like the perfect opportunity to make some beautiful French paper stars ornaments for Christmas. ![]() Some Origami patience, if I may say so, because there will be some paper folding techniques involved. Today’s project falls in the second category, the one with only a few ingredients … but one that requires some patience. I sometimes like making complex projects that involve many steps and require many ingredients, projects that challenge me and my creativity, but sometimes I find myself wanting to try smaller projects that only need a few ingredients (some of them which I might already have around in my home). All handmade projects require patience, you could say that is the extra ingredient that they all have in common. But when you are happy and super excited with the final result, you forget all about the hard work, especially when your project is finished and is ready to be admired by everybody :) I love making handmade decorations for my home … you might have already noticed that by now:) And Christmas, beside all its beauty and magic, is yet another great opportunity to do that. These next steps walk you through how to fold the sides of the pentagon to make the right creases in the paper, and pinch the corners into the center of the pentagon. ![]() The basic ideas is to start off with a perfect square paper, and then fold it to make a perfect pentagon shape. While it is a bit difficult to explain every fold, hopefully these step-by-step photos will guide you, as well as seeing it in the video.
